Custom Tahitian Pearl Necklace Layout

I had a collector ask me to look for a very special strand of Peacock Tahitians. I didn’t quite find what she was looking for(at the right price) and informed her we struck out.

Q: Where do Tahitian Pearls come from?

Tahitian Pearl Farming Areas

A: The five archipelagos that make up French Polynesia lie East of Australia. They are the Marquesas Islands, Gambier Islands, Austral Islands, the Tuamotu Archipelago and the Society Islands, which contain Tahiti. The islands are spread out over an area the size of Europe, but their land surface is only 1,500 square miles.

The lagoons of the Tuamotu Archipelago and Gambier Islands are home to most of the pearl farms that cultivate Tahitian pearls.

Featured Product Round Tahitian Pearl Necklace with Peacock

18" Round Tahitian Pearl Necklace: 10.0-11.9mm AAA

These exotic Tahitian pearls hail from the warm tropical atolls of Tuamotu and Gambier Islands, part of French Polynesia. Each pearl in this strand was grown for at least two seasons (minimum of 18-24 months).

While most "discount" strands are only grown one season, our Tahitian pearls spend quality time in the water acquiring thicker nacre and more saturated colors. The extra time in the oyster is what gives these pearls exceptionally thick nacre and a deep three-dimensional luster.
