At Pearls of Joy, we focus on the top 1-2% of pearl harvests. While not cheap, our studs, hoops and drops offer considerable value compared to traditional luxury retail. When creating this collection of pearl earrings, our intent was to offer the highest quality possible at a fair price. These are real pearl earrings you can wear today and hand down to a loved one years from now.
While the most popular stud size is 7.5mm, we offer a range of sizes from 5.5mm Akoya pearls to 12mm+ Tahitian and South Sea pearls. Choose from classic pearl studs for everyday wear, or hoops and dangles for events that warrant a bit more impact. Our pearl earring prices start around $250 and can go upwards of $7,000 for exceptionally large, high-quality pearls.
Every pair is sourced directly as loose pearls or matched pairs and handmade with solid 14kt gold in our Los Angeles workshop. As always with Pearls of Joy jewelry, every piece comes with a free cleaning kit, 100-day "no-hassle" returns and free 2-day FedEx in the US.
Kevin Canning, our founder, selects and sources every pearl we sell. Our Akoyas are from Japan, Tahitians from French Polynesia, Freshwater from China and South Sea from Australia and The Philippines. Buying direct means we can put together heirloom worthy pearl earrings without the traditional layers of markup.
Learn More: Pearl Types GuideWhen choosing pearl earrings, the question of size will always come up. Sometimes it's based on budget. Other times it will depend on the style of earring or where you plan to wear them. As a baseline, most of our customers choose pearl studs around 7.5mm to 8.5mm for everyday casual wear. For nights out or days you want to feel a bit more seen, 9-12mm pearls can create extra impact without being over the top. For this reason, we find a lot of customers end up buying 2-3 pairs of various sizes or styles to give them options.
