Worn by Jennifer Lopez during her Georgia wedding to Ben Affleck, the pearl looks to measure around 13-14 mm (but of course it's impossible to tell from pictures alone), a beautifully large and luxurious South Sea pearl size.

Far be it from us to simp for celebrities ... it's not really our thing (as readers of our newsletter and blog can attest to). We are usually much more interested in showcasing our singular obsession: Pearls.
That said, the nuptials of Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck were so pearl laden, and the newlyweds seem so much in love and the pictures were SO great, that we couldn't resist dedicating an entire piece to them here.

During their "official" wedding (they had 2 events - one in Las Vegas, one 3-day affair in Georgia), Jennifer Lopez had multiple gowns custom-made for her by design house Ralph Lauren, and pearls featured prominently in each.
Here she is behind a cathedral veil wearing a pair of Mikimoto White South Sea pearl and diamond earrings. Beautiful.

This is maybe our most favorite wedding dress ever made. Full stop. Everything about this image just screams romance. And luster!
This custom-design gown was created by Ralph Lauren, with thirty artists working on the dress to hand-sew ropes of pearls, Swarovski crystals and silk tulle into place over a period of 700 hours (!!). A pair of pearl embellished heels by Jimmy Choo and some diamond earrings completed the look.
