I bought this pendant for my friend’s birthday and am very pleased with the quality and service received. Unfortunately the whole experience overall has left a very bitter taste as I had to pay FedEx £91.19 in unexpected duty/taxes upon delivery (over and above the shipping charge of £36 of which I was already aware when I made my purchase)

I live in the UK and no mention whatsoever of this extortionate extra cost is made on the Pearls of Joy website to alert overseas customers in advance. So, potential non-US residents please be aware that pearls from this company will probably end up costing you far more than you bargain for

Many years ago, I bought my not-yet wife a simple pearl very similar to the "Grace" Tahitian Pearl Solitaire Pendant. It may have been the best gift I ever got her. She wore it every day, all day. Twenty years later, it really showed its age (don't we all!). She asked me for another, as close to it as I could find. I searched and searched and kept coming up empty. . . . Until one day, she showed me this necklace on the Pearls of Joy website. What attracted her to it was not so much its similarity to my original gift, but the Pearls of Joy's founder and CEO Kevin Canning's story and business model. She adores her new necklace, and I couldn't be more satisfied.
