I'm not normally one for making New Year's resolutions, but this year I've resolved to offer at least one new product a month to POJ. While the classic pieces will always be the most popular items, 2013 has shown, there's a lot of room to expand our offerings.
This past fall I had a lot of fun bringing in small collections of exotic pearls, like ripples
and baroque Akoyas
, most selling out in a couple of days. I was also fortunate to work one on one with customers, making custom, one of kind pieces.
Matching metallic Freshwater pearls to exotic color souffles.
There's something special about making a piece that you know is one of kind. The process of taking a customers idea and transforming it into a finished piece of jewelry, is something I've really grown to love. Most times I never get to speak to POJ customers, they place the order online and we ship the package, so working with customers directly, is something I really look forward.
Beautiful custom pair of Hanadama pearl earrings.
So with my New Year's resolution in mind, I purchased a lot of 40, 14-15mm baroque South Sea pearls. Admittedly without much of a plan for them. I spoke with our goldsmith and asked him to come up with a simple setting, something that would compliment the circled surface of the South Sea pearls. His suggestions was to create a custom pendant, but to keep it simple and leave the focus on the pearl.

As always if you have any special request or ideas for custom pieces, I'd love to hear from you. Don't be afraid to get in touch and bounce your ideas my way.
